Following the exciting round of fixtures for the Chapa Dimba na Safaricom Central Region Semi-finals and Finals, the draw for the Nairobi Region and National Finals, was held in Nairobi, with the National Finals being held at the Bukhungu Stadium from 22nd -25th March 2018.

The Finals mark the culmination of the tournament for the 282 girls’ and 1,342 boys’ participant teams with a cash prize of 1 Million Kenya Shillings and a trip to the International Football Academy with Kenyan midfield stalwart Victor Wanyama.

The tournament’s impact, however, has been much more far-reaching, especially in the development of youth grassroots football in the country and has proved a fertile spotting ground for local clubs’ scouts and the U20 Harambee Stars Squad, as pointed out by the Football Kenya Federation President, Nick Mwendwa:

The tournament is a perfect example of how football can be used to open doors for girls and boys from all backgrounds. This programme has given us the opportunity to scout for talented footballers from all over the country. Players like David Majak, Fredrick Krop, and Oscar Kengwa have already signed up for Premier League teams while the likes of James Omsinde and John Njuguna have earned call ups to the national under 20 team

The Nairobi Regional finals will be held over the weekend (17th and 18th March) at the Stima Sports’ ground, with the coveted chance of representing the capital in Kakamega up for grabs.
