Acakoro Ladies (Nairobi), Al Ahly and Kitale Queens (Rift) and Manyatta United (Nyanza) are through to the finals of the Chapa Dimba na Safaricom games at the Kinoru Stadium in Meru. They overcame grueling fixtures to now sit steps away from tournament glory.
Acakoro shine and Kitale Queens grateful for the advantage
In the girls’ semis held on Friday, Acakoro Ladies won four goals against Changamwe Ladies who only scored two goals despite getting a direct pass from the quarterfinals. Sylvia Makhungu (Acakoro) netted the opener in the 19th minute before Catherine Awuor (Acakoro) added two more before the stroke of halftime. Despite pulling two back, Acakoro ended Changamwe’s dreams for the final in the 93rd minutes as they booked a spot in the final.
On the other hand, a well-rested Kitale Queens took full advantage of their direct pass from the quarterfinals as they injected heavy defeat into the hearts of Barcelona Ladies. Their physical advantage led to six goals against a sole penalty scored by the Central Champions’ star player, Jane Njeri.

A persistent Al Ahly and a clinical Manyatta United set up tough final
Al Ahly from Rift Valley pegged one back to draw with Nairobi’s South B United and force the game to penalties on Saturday. At full time, the game ended 2 goals each side and coaches schemed on a reality that required both luck and experience. Al Ahly came out top after scoring 3 penalties against 2 by South B United.
Peter Ochieng and Ibrahim Ochieng made sure that Manyatta United (Nyanza) made it to the boys’ final. Their goals against a single goal by Lugari Blue Saints (Western) marked close of business in a nervy match on Saturday.

Chapa Dimba losers did not lose all
The losing semifinalists, Lugari Blue Saints, South B United, Barcelona Ladies, and Changamwe Ladies pocketed KES 250,000 cash reward each. The winner in the Sunday’s finals will take home KES 1M while the losing finalist will walk away with KES 500,000 among other individualized prizes.
