Fab and Bobo Head to Head – MW10

Brighton & Hove Albion v Wolverhampton Wanderers

Last Five Meetings: W2 D2 L1

Fab Says: Wolves’ bubble was finally burst by Watford last weekend and suddenly they look there for the taking and I think Brighton will be relishing that prospect. And why shouldn’t they? They are at home and have won two on the bounce.

Predicts: 1-0

Bobo Says: Wolves shocked many people with their defeat at home against Watford. They face a resurgent Brighton with some confidence after stringing two wins. Could Wolves be on the slump or was that just a one off? While Brighton will fancy their chances, Wolves will have learnt a lesson or two.

Predicts: 1-1

Fulham v Bournemouth

Last Five Meetings: W0 D3 L2

Fab Says: The Cherries were thwarted quite unexpectedly by The Saints last weekend but luckily for them they come up against a Fulham side with the league’s worst defense. The Cottagers are on free fall and need to arrest the situation, fast. The circumstances suit Bournemouth and they’re likely to play on the counter, and when they do they could run riot.

Predicts: 1-4

Bobo Says: Fulham were doing so well at the start of the season but with a weak defense, nothing much can be done. They can’t rely on outscoring the opponent each time. The Cherries on the other hand are quite solid and this is a match that they can win.

Predicts: 1-3

Liverpool v Cardiff City

Last Four Meetings: W3 D1 L0

Fab Says: Liverpool will win again and I don’t like it.

Predicts: 2-0

Bobo Says: Seems like another day and another three points for Liverpool. Cardiff will not be too easy but Liverpool have Salah coming back to his best and there isn’t much Cardiff can do to stop them.

Predicts: 3-0

Southampton v Newcastle United

Last Five Meetings: W2 D2 L1

Fab Says: Two teams that are struggling come together and it should be quite a fight. Newcastle are still looking for their first win and I think they still will be looking beyond this match. Southampton showed encouraging signs in nullifying Bournemouth and you get a feeling that it’s just a matter of time before they start causing havoc on the opponent’s goal.

Predicts: 2-1

Bobo Says: Early season relegation battle. Southampton seem the better of the two.

Predicts: 2-1

Watford v Huddersfield Town

Last Four Meetings: W1 D0 L4

Fab Says: Watford did well to get all the three points on their visit to Wolves to suggest that just maybe they’ve gotten over their recent slump. As a result they should make easy work out of the rather hapless Terriers, who have been doing just about everything but score the goals to change the results.

Predicts: 2-0

Bobo Says: Watford will be thrilled to have won against Wolves. They should also be thrilled that they are meeting Huddersfield after that confidence boosting win. Three points is all that can be expected from Watford.

Predicts: 3-1

Leicester City v West Ham United

Last Five Meetings: W2 D2 L1

Fab Says: Leicester were spirited but ultimately unrewarded away at Arsenal but if they can keep up the same approach, they should be too strong for the Hammers who now have to adjust following the long term injury sustained by Andriy Yarmolenko.

Predicts: 2-1

Bobo Says: The Foxes will finally meet an opponent that they can match. They showed some glimpses of quality against Arsenal but in the end did not have the quality. The Hammers will offer a much more balanced challenge and the Foxes can certainly win this.

Predicts: 2-1

Burnley v Chelsea

Last Five Meetings: W2 D2 L1

Fab Says: Chelsea somehow managed to let a nice half time lead at home to Man United slip and had to eventually chase the game to earn a point, thus losing ground to Man City and Liverpool. They are well aware that any slip up now is mightily costly and that’s why I think they will do a professional job on Burnley.

Predicts: 0-2

Bobo Says: The Blues should win this fixture with ease. They were exposed by Manchester United and almost dropped points. However, this is a more straightforward fixture for them.

Predicts: 1-3

Crystal Palace v Arsenal

Last Four Meetings: W1 D1 L3

Fab Says: Arsenal made it 11 wins in a row in Lisbon on Thursday night, and will look to continue the remarkable hot streak. Palace will of course be in no mood to make things easy for them, but like Leicester saw on Monday night, you need quality to complement a good spell you’re having to get the right result. I don’t think the Eagles have that in abundance.

Predicts: 1-2

Bobo Says: This is a difficult fixture for Arsenal. 11 wins do not hide the obvious weaknesses in the team. Despite this, I expect that Arsenal will get another issue as Emery continues ironing out the kinks.

Predicts: 1-3

Manchester United v Everton

Last Five Meetings: W2 D3 L0

Fab Says: United are fresh from two particularly strong performances against Chelsea and Juventus, but the worrying thing for them must be the fact that in none of them did they come out with a win. That will only serve to encourage an in form Everton side with the quality to cause problems. I don’t know whether Everton having extra days’ rest on their opponents will count for much, but then again it is a game of fine margins.

Predicts: 2-2

Bobo Says: Manchester United showed that they can put up a fight against Chelsea. Perhaps if they approached all matches as if they were playing a ‘big team’ they would be doing better. After all, a win against a Chelsea or a win against a Huddersfield all mean three points. If they approach Everton like they are a small team, and I bet they will, they are in trouble.

Predicts: 1-1

Tottenham Hotspur v Manchester City

Last Five Meetings: W1 D1 L3

Fabian Says: It seems like Spurs are just chugging on, with no real momentum as they showed in Eindhoven, managing the somehow draw a game they were so dominant in and should have won. City on the other hand are in fine, fine fettle scoring goals from almost all their attackers and crucially, not letting in any the back. Spurs retain the quality to beat anyone, City included, but for this encounter I’ll go with the form team.

Predicts: 1-3

Bobo Says: The fixture has come at a bad time for Tottenham Hotspurs. They seem to be going through a rough patch and their best player (Lloris) is out of form. They should be a danger to Manchester City but I doubt that they will.

Predicts: 1-4
