Fab and Bobo Head to Head – MW13

Brighton & Hove Albion v Leicester City

Last Five Meetings: W2 D1 L2

Fab Says: Brighton are a force at home while Leicester are wobbly away from home. Following that trend I have all the reasons to believe that Brighton will win, narrowly.

Predicts: 1-0

Bobo Says: Brighton seem to have the edge in this as they are in some good form at home. The break may be a detriment to them but I think they just have enough to overcome Leicester.

Predicts: 2-1

Everton v Cardiff City

Last Two Meetings: W1 D1 L0

Fab Says: Everton seems to have gotten more solid and efficient as the season has worn on. In as much as Cardiff has picked up a couple of wins after a disastrous start you get the feeling that they will be no match for an Everton side high in confidence at Goodison.

Predicts: 3-1

Bobo Says: The match feels like it is tilted towards an Everton win. Everton are more organized and Cardiff, while better during the break, do not have enough quality to get over this Everton side.

Predicts: 2-0

Fulham v Southampton

Last Five Meetings: W0 D2 L3

Fab Says: Dilly Ding, Dilly Dong! You know who! He’s back. Indeed the Tinkerman and architect of the Premier League’s greatest ever fairytale, Claudio Ranieri will be at the helm of Fulham starting with this encounter against a former Fulham manager Mark Hughes. Both sides are in poor form with the Cottagers’ situation being the more pressing, but surely the new manager bounce ought to come in play. I sure am not betting against Ranieri’s triumphant return to English football.

Predicts: 2-1

Bobo Says: The PL will be glad to welcome back Ranieri and Fulham will be glad for the change. I expect that this will trigger an instant reaction from Fulham players who should be doing better than they are to be honest. Fulham may not be able to keep clean sheets yet but they should start winning matches.

Predicts: 3-1

Manchester United v Crystal Palace

Last Five Meetings: W4 D1 L0

Fab Says: Palace have had a difficult run of fixtures and it doesn’t get any easier as they make the trip to Old Trafford in a fixture they’ve really struggled in. It won’t be an easy win for United, but it will be a win nonetheless.

Predicts: 2-1

Bobo Says: Manchester United were probably sad about the break as they had some momentum going. However, this should not stop them from picking up another win.

Predicts: 2-1

Watford v Liverpool

Last Four Meetings: W0 D1 L4

Fab Says: In as much as Liverpool has dominated his fixture, the fact that they’re away and immediately after the international break makes me feel convinced that a surprise result is in the offing. The Hornets’ form isn’t the most encouraging but they are well capable of anything.

Predicts: 2-1

Bobo Says: Liverpool have a good record but this is the day that they falter against a rather inconsistent Watford side. They have the quality to stun this Liverpool side.

Predicts: 3-1

West Ham United v Manchester City

Last Five Meetings: W0 D0 L5

Fab Says: This may be the Manuel Pellegrini derby but chances of him having a definitive say in the outcome are pretty slim. The Citizens are purring and seem to have engaged their destructive gear for this very important part of their title defense. I think they will win, easily.

Predicts: 1-3

Bobo Says: Another match, another three points for Manchester City.

Predicts: 1-3

Tottenham Hotspur v Chelsea

Last Five Meetings: W2 D0 L3

Fab Says: This particular London derby is usually heavy laden with goals and this Saturday night should be no different. Chelsea are yet to lose a competitive fixture this season and that proud record will come under immense bombardment by the Spurs attackers. Spurs will be intent on proving that they are not becoming serial wimps in the face of elite opposition and they well just might hand Maurizio (Sarri) his first L to the delight of Mauricio (Pochettino).

Predicts: 3-2

Bobo Says: This fixture is probably the match of the week. It will be a stern test for Chelsea and a challenge to their winning run. I think they will drop points but most likely a draw. Sarri’s team has a grit about them.

Predicts: 2-2

Bournemouth v Arsenal

Last Four Meetings: W1 D1 L3

Fab Says: Arsenal may be on a 16-match unbeaten run in all competitions but worryingly have drawn 4 of the last 5 of those. A trip to the Vitality may just be what they doctor ordered. Bournemouth themselves play slick stuff so it should be quite a spectacle. I’m backing Arsenal to just about find the cutting edge to make this a win.

Predicts: 1-2

Bobo Says: The Cherries are a tough challenge for the Gunners. They are organized and play as a team. Arsenal defense is still a bit shaky while Bournemouth can score goals. It should be an interesting match that Arsenal should win.

Predicts: 1-3

Wolverhampton Wanderers v Huddersfield Town

Last Five Meetings: W2 D0 L3

Fab Says: It’s close to two months since Wolves last won a football match and that’s not a very good statistic for them. In that period Huddersfield managed to register a win, albeit against the rudderless Fulham but it is unlikely that they will replicate that at Molineux.

Predicts: 1-0

Bobo Says: Wolves will have been glad for the break. They need to go back their winning ways and I reckon that they will.

Predicts: 1-0

Burnley v Newcastle United

Last Four Meetings: W1 D3 L0

Fabian Says: How things change! There was a time when The Magpies couldn’t point to where their first win would be coming from but they go to this Monday night encounter at Turf Moor with the chance of making it three wins in a row in the league. Then again that international break may have dented their momentum and given Burnley a route back to stabilizing their somewhat imploding season.

Predicts: 1-0

Bobo Says: This sounds like a boring match that Burnley will win.

Predicts: 2-0
