Leicester City v Liverpool

Last Five Meetings: W2 D0 L3

Fab Says: Liverpool travel to the King Power still with a 100% record in the league so far this season and will not be lacking confidence. The Foxes themselves are on a good run, having well and truly gotten over the opening night defeat at Old Trafford. They warmed up to this fixture with a convincing 4-0 thrashing of Fleetwood Town in the Carabao Cup during the week. Even though the Reds did win at this ground last season, it is a place that they’ve struggled at in the recent past. Jamie Vardy once again sits out this one through suspension, and that’s one less headache for the Liverpool defense to worry about, but Leicester have enough in attack to become the first side to breach the Reds’ rear-guard in this campaign. I feel Liverpool will drop points – two, not three.

Predicts: 1-1

Bobo Says: It is difficult to see anything other than a Liverpool win in this fixture. Leicester will be without their star player and it is expected that they will struggle against a solid Liverpool team. The Foxes will likely see Red in the early afternoon kickoff.

Predicts: 0-2

Brighton & Hove Albion v Fulham

Last Five Meetings: W4 D0 L1

Fab Says: Rather oddly, Brighton have been quite dominant in this fixture and will bank on that to count for them psychologically. Fulham though will want to look to their two most recent outings – wins against Burnley in the league and Exeter in cup as confirmation of their current high level of confidence. Brighton on the other hand are reeling from two tight losses and so have even more urgency to get back to winning ways. I’m still not sure of Fulham’s strength away from Craven Cottage and can’t see them winning this one.

Predicts: 2-1

Bobo Says: This one promises to be an interesting fixture between two teams that may be very hard to separate. Fulham were involved in a thrilling match last time out where they showed their attacking prowess but their defensive frailties were also exposed. Brighton are rather well organized and more seasoned at this stage. Despite this, Fulham still have a bit more quality and I expect them to get at least one point from this.

Predicts: 1-1

Chelsea v Bournemouth

Last Five Meetings: W4 D0 L1

Fab Says: Bournemouth may not have collected all the points last weekend against Everton, but they showed that they don’t go down easy. That strength of character could come in handy at the Bridge if they are to dent Chelsea’s perfect record so far. And why not? They did beat the Blues 3-0 in this very same fixture last season. Then again this is a pretty new Chelsea. They’re now pass-masters and enjoy boring teams to death by passing before hitting where it hurts most. As brilliant as Maurizio Sarri’s start has been, I can’t shake off the feeling that they’re due a thorough scare.

Predicts: 2-2

Bobo Says: The Blues will face a stern test against the Cherries. Callum Wilson is having fun with his football and so are his teammates. Bournemouth will relish the challenge. To understand how big a threat Bournemouth are to Chelsea it is worth noting that over the last three seasons, no away team at Stamford Bridge has got more than AFC Bournemouth’s two PL victories there, same to Crystal Palace, Liverpool and Manchester City. Can they repeat their antics from last season? Probably not. Chelsea are very dangerous presently. Another win for the Blues.

Predicts: 2-1

Crystal Palace v Southampton

Last Five Meetings: W2 D0 L3

Fab Says: Both teams won in their respective midweek Carabao Cup assignments but aside from that are not in the best of form. For the Saints especially things seem a bit direr given the manner of their capitulation at home to Leicester last weekend. They’re still looking for their first three points of the season. Palace have lost to Liverpool and Watford, two teams that have maximum points, so you could say that they were just up against the big hitters. They have a chance to right those wrongs in front of a raucous Selhurst Park and they will get the job done.

Predicts: 3-1

Bobo Says: The Eagles are looking a much better team than Southampton at the moment and the difference should show. Crystal Palace have what it takes to get the three points and pile on more misery for the Saints who have just a single point after 3 matches. The Eagles should get the three points.

Predicts: 3-0

Everton v Huddersfield Town

Last Five Meetings: W4 D1 L0

Fab Says: I think I glimpsed a stat that said Huddersfield, for the three matches played so far, have only had three shots on target. They’re averaging a shot on target every match and that would be fine if they were clinical but sadly that’s not the case. Everton have no such problems finding where goal is and even the absence of Richarlison to suspension won’t stop them from putting a few past the hapless Terriers.

Predicts: 3-0

Bobo Says: This is a difficult fixture for Everton despite all the inadequacies that face Huddersfield. Everton will not be too worried by Richarlison’s absence as they have Theo Walcott in form. It will probably be another hard day for Huddersfield.

Predicts: 2-0

West Ham United v Wolverhampton Wanderers

Last Five Meetings: W3 D1 L1

Fab Says: The Hammers are losing every game while Wolves are not doing enough to win them. That’s the kind of setting that this encounter finds itself in. It’s not that both sides are that bad – West Ham were rather unlucky to lose to Arsenal while Wolves did the unthinkable – taking a point from champions Man City. I reckon home comforts will just about tilt the scales ever so slightly in West Ham’s favour.

Predicts: 2-1

Bobo Says: Wolves are becoming increasingly well organized and they showed this when they managed to get a point against the defending champions. This should give them massive confidence and they will believe that the players and the system they have works. West Ham on the other hand were poor defensively and they did not capitalize on the chances they created against Arsenal. I think that they will have to wait a bit longer to collect any points in the PL.

Predicts: 1-3

Manchester City v Newcastle United

Last Five Meetings: W4 D1 L0

Fab Says: Newcastle manager Rafael Benitez was roundly criticized for his diabolically negative tactics in the loss against Chelsea on Sunday but I don’t think he’s about to change for this fixture. City will want to get back to business after the shock draw at Molineux so as not to lose further ground to Liverpool and they have all the talent and quality to do it.

Predicts: 5-0

Bobo Says: This seems like it will be all about damage control for Newcastle. They will probably focus on preventing embarrassment in what could be an ugly match. Kun Aguero will come out to stat pad against them. He has scored 14 goals in 11 matches against the Toon with the last eight goals coming in his last two home matches against them. He is likely to continue with this. Newcastle don’t seem like they have much to offer.

Predicts: 3–0

Cardiff City v Arsenal

Last Five Meetings: W0 D1 L4

Fab Says: 34 points was enough to guarantee safety from relegation last season and it seems that’s what Cardiff are looking at given how they’ve started the season. They have failed to score, but crucially have two points. So all they need is just another thirty-two nil-nil draws and they’re home and dry. It further means that they can afford to lose three more games, starting with this one against Arsenal who’ve just gotten their losing streak out of the way. They’ll be buzzing for this trip to the Welsh capital.

Predicts: 0-3

Bobo Says: Cardiff are out here to just survive. They are playing an even more negative version of football compared to Newcastle. It is an eyesore. Arsenal are slowly finding their grove back but they visit a very difficult stadium. 80 percent of Arsenal’s premier league goals against Cardiff have come in the last five minutes. However, Arsenal should do better this time and come away with three points and an improvement on the goal difference.

Predicts: 0-4

Burnley v Manchester United

Last Five Meetings: W0 D2 L3

Fab Says: Can it get any worse for Man United? For this question I always feel that yes, it can. Monday night’s 3-0 spanking was Jose Mourinho’s worst home defeat as a manger. Luckily or otherwise for them, they go to Turf Moor against a Burnley side badly bruised after crashing out of the Europa League on Thursday night. It well could turn out a blessing in disguise as they can now put all their energies in the Premier League. United were surprisingly expressive in that defeat to suggest that their agricultural football days are over, but the side they face are actually arable footballers themselves and so Jose might revert to type. All that makes up for an almighty war of attrition that no one will likely win.

Predicts: 1-1

Bobo Says: I wish I could use emojis for this prediction but sadly I cannot. Mourinho attempted to play football and he lost so I expect it will be back to what he is more comfortable with. This sits well with Burnley. It will be another bad day in office for the Red Devils.

Predicts: 2-1

Watford v Tottenham Hotspur

Last Five Meetings: W0 D1 L4

Fabian Says: An irresistible force comes up against another irresistible force and all I can imagine is them cancelling each other, even if Spurs managed to humble United without having to play their best football. The Hornets will be very wary of that as any slight lapse of concentration will be punished severely. A draw wouldn’t be the worst result for anyone, no?

Predicts: 2-2

Bobo Says: This will be an interesting match made even more so by the absence of Hugo Lloris. Watford will fancy their chances in front of goal and will expect to continue with their great run. Tottenham are in some fine form as well with three wins from three but they face a unique kind of challenge here that could result in dropped points.

Predicts: 3-2
