Fab and Bobo Head to Head – MW6

Fulham v Watford

Last Five Meetings: W1 D2 L2

Fab Says: The Hornets finally lost their aura of invincibility last weekend against Man United and sometimes when you lose a game, it becomes a bad habit that is a bit difficult to shake off. Fulham are also coming off a difficult fixture, away to the champions Man City and should want to get back on track. I’m going for a narrow Fulham win.

Predicts: 2-1

Bobo Says: Watford were brought back down to earth after an excellent start to the season. Their performance against Manchester United wasn’t bad at all and they deserved perhaps at least one point. Fulham are no pushovers but they are clearly still in transition, capable of scoring and leaking goals at the same time. This should be an interesting match and I reckon both teams will share the spoils.

Predicts: 2-2

Burnley vs. AFC Bournemouth

Last Five Meetings: W2 D1 L2

Fab Says: In as much as Bournemouth were absolutely terrific at home to Leicester last weekend, I can’t see anything other than a gutsy Burnley win to finally get their season on track. I don’t even know why.

Predicts: 1-0

Bobo Says: Bournemouth are in good form while the home team are in poor form. Bournemouth have been an interesting outfit so far and they seem very well organized. The Cherries clearly have the upper hand and I think they will be the better team and they will go home with three points.

Predicts: 1-3

Cardiff City v Manchester City

Last Five Meetings: W2 D1 L2

Fab Says: This is not the type of games that Cardiff are supposed to win and even if they will want to make life a bit difficult for City, the theme for Neil Warnock and his men will be all about damage limitation. Man City suffered a bizarre home loss to Lyon in their midweek Champions League opener and will go into this encounter with a hell of a lot to prove.

Predicts: 1-4

Bobo Says: Manchester City will be angry after a home loss to Lyon in the Champions League and will come out guns blazing for this. It will not be easy however but they should have just about enough to get the job done.

Predicts: 1-3

Crystal Palace v Newcastle United

Last Five Meetings: W1 D2 L2

Fab Says: Palace got back to winning ways at Huddersfield last weekend thanks to a moment of brilliance from talisman Wilf Zaha. Once again he will be called upon to do the rescuing against a Newcastle side still looking for their maiden win of the season.

Predicts: 2-0

Bobo Says: The Eagles have Zaha back and this should be exciting news. He will be a big difference so much so that the Benitez feels that he should be investigated by the FA. Palace have the edge in this one and they will come away with the three points.

Predicts: 2-0

Leicester City v Huddersfield Town

Last Five Meetings: W3 D1 L1

Fab Says: The Foxes must probably still be in a state of shock after their stunning 4-2 loss at the Vitality but the good news for them is that they get to make amends against Huddersfield, a side not known to uproot trees on their away days.

Predicts: 3-1

Bobo Says: Leicester will want to come back to winning ways and this match offers an excellent chance to do just that. Huddersfield will not be pushovers though but the Foxes should just about squeeze a win.

Predicts: 2-1

Liverpool v Southampton

Last Five Meetings: W2 D1 L2

Fab Says: It is the Liverpool-Saints family reunion once again as The Reds welcome their feeder club to Anfield. Liverpool have won all their games this season and are high in confidence after their thrilling win over PSG in midweek. Southampton have to do without Danny Ings who’s ineligible to feature against his parent club and that’s a huge blow which they will not recover from.

Predicts: 2-0

Bobo Says: Liverpool are looking to make it six consecutive wins at the start of the league for the third time in their history. They are looking like the team to beat right now and I don’t think that Southampton have much to stop them.

Predicts: 3-0

Manchester United vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers

Last Five Meetings: W4 D0 L1

Fab Says: United certainly looks to be in better health than they were in a few weeks ago and will be favourites for the three points, even if Wolves themselves are on their own purple patch.

Predicts: 2-1

Bobo Says: Manchester United are back to some sort of form with wins against Burnley and Watford and a convincing win in the Champions League. Wolves have won their last two league matches, both by 1-0 scorelines which shows that they will not be pushed around. The match depends on how the Red Devils approach but it will not be easy to break down the Wolves.

Predicts: 0-0

Brighton & Hove Albion vs. Tottenham Hotspurs

Last Five Meetings: W0 D1 L4

Fab Says: Spurs are going through their worst patch in the Mauricio Pochettino era, having lost 3 consecutive games. They’re looking leggy and jaded, a huge far cry from their usual robust and enterprising selves. This bodes well for Brighton who will be looking to pounce on home soil. They’ve done it before against a top 6 side (Man United) this season so it won’t be totally unheard of.

Predicts: 3-2

Bobo Says: The Seagulls showed their fighting spirit to come back from two goals down in the last fixture when all seemed finished for them. They will be a tough opponent for Tottenham especially given that they have Glenn Murray who has scored four goals in his five PL matches this season, including three in two at the Amex Stadium. Tottenham will have to dig deep to come up with a win here and they will fall short.

Predicts: 2-2

West Ham United vs. Chelsea

Last Five Meetings: W2 D1 L2

Fab Says: West Ham are finally off the mark and the confidence should be slowly returning, which is extremely useful in a derby like this one. Chelsea racked up a fifth successive win last weekend but were far from convincing in their win over PAOK in the Europa League. Can they make it a perfect six? I doubt it.

Predicts: 2-1

Bobo Says: The Hammers finally got a win much to everyone’s surprise in MW5. They have a newly organized midfield that can do the job and that will make it hard for Chelsea. This will be a real test for Maurizio Sarri and his men. The end result, I think Chelsea will finally drop points.

Predicts: 1-1

Arsenal vs. Everton

Last Five Meetings: W4 D0 L1

Fab Says: Well, Arsenal can’t keep a clean sheet, or can they? So at least we can be sure of goals in this encounter, which is always a good thing. Who will win? Everton are still yoyo-ing and flattering to deceive so it’s unlikely they will get a positive result at a ground where they’ve historically struggled in. Arsenal’s attack, unlike their defense, seems to have gotten the hang of Unai Emery’s dogma so the task of outscoring the Toffees will be accomplished.

Predicts: 3-1

Bobo Says: The Gunners have many defensive frailties that the new manager is still trying to handle and that any opponent’s manager will be keen to exploit. They do have the firepower though and they will be trying to outscore their opponents. This is exactly what will happen in this match.

Predicts: 4-2
