Fridah’s FPL Picks – GW1

Fridah’s FPL Picks – GW1

After that miserably banterous take on GW1 from Fabian, Fridah gets in on the act, with a more helpful outlook.

I think Sadio Mane is good for anyone’s midfield. He is the most likely to get a goal for Southampton at the moment and he could be for the entire season. There is also Raheem Sterling. It seems like he’ll play a bigger role at Manchester City than what most people expected. Mesut Özil is likely to provide an assist here or there and he will definitely be adding to his goal tally this season. Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud have a thing against West Ham and would be good bets. Wayne Rooney is also a good bet. He has scored the most goals (6) on the opening weekend of the BPL more than any other player. Diego Costa got a hat trick against Swansea last time. Could be good too.

In defense, go for the fullbacks. Branislav Ivanovic and Cesar Azpilicueta would be ideal as would be Hector Bellerin and Nathaniel Clyne. There is also Jeffrey Schlupp from Leicester. Goalkeepers- Petr Cech, Thibaut Courtouis seem the ideal choices but both are expensive. Pick one and get a bargain goalkeeper like Boaz Myhill.

I reckon that Santi Cazorla, Riyad Mahrez would make good signings too. I think I’ll go for Chamberlain as well. He seems determined and in the absence of Alexis Sanchez, he should get a start. Calum Wilson from the Cherries is a must have especially as they play Aston Villa. The fullbacks from the Cherries are also a good buy. I’d look at Rudy Gestede from Aston Villa but the Cherries defense is solid. There is Andre Ayew at Swansea and the Crystal Palace wingers Yannick Bolasie and Bakary Sako. Of course, Bojan would be great too especially as they play Liverpool.

Captain: Rooney, Özil, Mane or Giroud (big gamble as he may not start).

All the best.
